Neil Cameron

Managing Director

He won’t be the first to tell you, but one of the key skills Neil brings to his role at Carmichael + Baxter is his background in chartered accounting.

Combine that with his love of construction and project management and we have quite an unusual skillset on our hands. Like his fellow Directors, Peter and Alan, Neil is exceptionally hands-on, having never lost a love for construction which began in his student days.

Neil first joined us as a subcontractor, before joining the Board of both Carmichael + Baxter and and our sister company, Industrial Services, as Director in 2015.

Since his earliest days as a wee boy in Fife, helping out his Dad, Peter has known he was cut out for this role.

A career which includes construction, engineering, offshore oil & gas operations and management meant that Peter was ideally equipped to first set up Carmichael + Baxter Groundworks with Alan Baxter in 2011, before taking joint ownership of sister company, Industrial Services in 2014.

His reputation across a wide range of sectors is testimony to Peter’s work ethic – you’ll frequently see him working on-site – and his extensive knowledge of the industries in which we’re active.

Alan formed Carmichael + Baxter with Peter in 2011 and then sister company, Industrial Services, in 2014.

Being brought up in North Fife as a farmer’s son instilled a love of working outdoors in Alan and that has never changed. 

Alan has years of experience in agricultural, offshore and construction and this gives him the ability to overcome the challenges that occur on a daily basis on site. His home is on-site and that is where Alan can be found every day, working on the many diverse projects that come his way. 

Shannon has been an integral part of the carmichael + baxter team since joining in 2016

Shannon Moncur started her career with Carmichael + Baxter as admin back in June 2016 working alongside the existing admin team in Cupar eventually working her way up to Office Manager in 2019. Since then, Shannon has become an integral part of the management team running the Office for Carmichael + Baxter and the sister company, Industrial Services.

With over 15 years of office experience, Shannon enjoys the challenges and rewards that come with the daily operations of the Office. From Planning, Operations and accounting tasks, she is adept at wearing many hats and managing multiple tasks.
